This research proposal aims at providing both a greater perspective and an appropriate platform to understand and analyse the state of job satisfaction in the garments located in Sri Lanka. In order to do so, it uses a forefront organization as the sample study in regard to the performance of the organization generated by employee productivity.
Job satisfaction can be defined as the degree of satisfaction an employee experiences in regard to his job. In turn the job satisfaction acts as the main means of motivation for the employee to work productively. It is not as same as self-satisfaction, personal happiness or contentment with the self but toward his occupation. At the same time, it is not a temporary state of feeling accompanied by attaining any short term goals and rather it is the comprehensive relationship between the employer and employee for which he is remunerated. It can be any combination which causes an employee to express his satisfaction towards his job.
Both satisfaction and dissatisfaction of job can be perceived as the line of relationship between the offer and entailment in regard to a pleasurable emotional state of mind of the employee. When the job satisfaction is one the positive side in regarding the employee, the individual will surely be able to provide his contribution towards the success of his job and in turn as well as the organization. Job satisfaction leads to a frame of mind where the employee will be confident and comfortable enough to seek more opportunities to demonstrate his talents and skills which can often lead to more challenging tasks and responsibilities eventually resulting in increased pay and other relevant recognitions.
