This paper discusses E-learning as a new way of education during the lockdown of COVID-19 pandemic.
The crisis caused by the lockdown has cast its shadow on the education system. Coronavirus has altered the lives of all persons. But, time to look at the positives. The most crucial human development oft the kids is related to the special e-technology adopted during this lockdown period. The modern learning technique, which is already increasing at all levels of education, is an alternative training method to a physical classroom model that employs a comprehensive set of applications and processes.

Excerpt from the Book
2. Electronic Learning
E-learning can collectively be understood to disseminate education within and through a technological or digital environment.E-learning is the mode of learning that may encapsulate all the technical means such as the World Wide Web, CD-ROM, internet, satellite broadcast, interactive television, etc.It has become an umbrella term that integrates and aggregates several technological tools to provide a comprehensive learning environment.E-learning caters to the requirement of consistent delivery to diversely located learners. More precisely, in such situations where there is diversity in terms of culture, language, etc., asynchronous e learning is the best model to adopt. E-learning can be used to train a seemingly endless number of learners simultaneously and subsequently to engage students outside of the classroom to extend the learning experience. The process of developing and delivering the instruction material even in many languages takes much less time [17]. Pedagogy is the cornerstone of any successful e-learning endeavour. There are mainly three types of e-learning, as shown in Fig. 1.1.
Summary of Chapters
1. Introduction: Discusses the impact of the COVID-19 lockdown on global education systems and the subsequent surge in the adoption of e-technology as an alternative to physical classrooms.
2. Electronic Learning: Defines e-learning as an umbrella term for digital education and differentiates between its three primary modalities: asynchronous, synchronous, and blended learning.
3. Benefits and Drawbacks of E-Learning: Examines the advantages, such as cost-savings and remote access, while identifying challenges like the need for self-discipline and the lack of traditional interaction.
4. E-Learning Platforms for Online Courses: Provides an overview of prominent digital platforms and tools used for creating and delivering online courses, including a comparative analysis of their specific features.
5. Conclusions: Summarizes the necessity of e-learning during crises and emphasizes the need for instructors to adapt and leverage technology to ensure educational continuity.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the primary focus of this publication?
The work explores how e-learning serves as a vital, constructive technique for maintaining educational standards during the global COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent lockdown periods.
What are the central themes discussed in the text?
The text focuses on the transition to technology-based pedagogy, the classification of e-learning types, the comparative benefits and drawbacks of these systems, and the landscape of available online learning platforms.
What is the main objective of the research?
The objective is to analyze the shift toward digital instruction and identify how institutions can effectively utilize e-learning tools to mitigate the disruption caused by the closure of physical schools.
Which methodology is employed in this study?
The paper employs a qualitative review approach, synthesizing existing literature, technological frameworks, and empirical observations to assess the efficacy and implementation of various e-learning platforms.
What content is covered in the main body of the work?
The main body details the evolution of e-learning, defines the categories of digital education, outlines the pros and cons of these systems, and provides a comparative analysis of specific tools like Udemy, Teachable, and WizIQ.
Which keywords characterize this study?
Key terms include E-Learning, Lockdown, COVID-19, Learning Platforms, Quarantine, and Digital Pedagogy.
How does the author categorize different e-learning environments?
The author categorizes e-learning into three main types: Asynchronous (self-paced, pre-recorded content), Synchronous (live, simultaneous interaction), and Blended (a hybrid of traditional and digital methods).
Why might asynchronous learning be preferred over synchronous sessions?
Asynchronous learning is often more reasonable because it allows learners to access materials at their own pace, accommodating students in different locations who may face difficulties with scheduling or internet stability during live sessions.
What role do platforms like Udemy or Thinkific play?
These platforms provide the infrastructure for educators and institutions to build, market, and deliver online courses, offering features like quiz management, analytical tools, and customized learning environments.
