The aim of this project is to develop a tutoring platform for Hausa students in grades 4 to 6, providing them with audio, video and text output in Hausa Language together with mentoring sessions and access to previous SSCE and jamb past questions.
The platform will also achieve the following sets of objectives: To study the existing literature on E-Learning System, to develop an E-Learning System (web-based) for online tutoring and mentoring and to test the software for its applicability and performance. This system is significant to teachers, parents and students. To teachers, this system would serve as an additional tutoring and mentoring platform for extra lessons after school hours. To parents, this system would suffice to spending more money on hiring a tutor for extra-lessons at home. To students, this system would hasten and increase their level of understanding and curiosity and provide them with relevant resource materials suchas past questions.

Project Objectives and Focus Areas
The primary objective of this project is to develop a web-based tutoring and mentoring platform tailored for Hausa-speaking secondary school students (grades IV to VI) to overcome language barriers in curriculum comprehension.
- Development of a web-based E-Learning platform for online tutoring and student-mentor interaction.
- Implementation of multi-media content (audio, video, text) specifically in the Hausa language.
- Integration of academic resource materials, including past SSCE and JAMB examination questions.
- Application of the Agile Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) model for iterative system design and testing.
- Providing an accessible digital alternative to traditional classroom learning to enhance student performance.
Excerpt from the Book
3.3. RESEARCH MODEL: AGILE SDLC MODEL
The agile software development life cycle refers to the software development methodologies centered round the idea of iterative development, where requirements and solutions evolve through collaboration between self-organizing cross functional teams. Using the agile model, the project would be broken down into incremental builds. These builds would be provided in iterations so that testing and fixing of errors can be conducted at the middle of the development process.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the core purpose of this research?
The research aims to create a web-based tutoring and mentoring platform that supports Hausa-speaking secondary school students by providing academic content in their mother tongue to facilitate better comprehension of the curriculum.
What are the primary themes addressed?
The work focuses on the intersection of e-learning technologies, the cognitive benefits of learning in one's native language, and the implementation of software solutions for improved student accessibility.
What is the main research objective?
The main objective is to design and test a web-based e-learning system that provides audio, video, and text support in the Hausa language, alongside access to past examination questions.
Which development methodology is applied?
The study utilizes the Agile Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) model, which facilitates iterative development, incremental builds, and continuous testing during the software creation process.
What is covered in the main body of the work?
The main body examines existing e-learning systems through a literature review, defines the requirements for the new platform, outlines the technical architecture, and presents the system's design and use-case scenarios.
Which keywords characterize this work?
The work is characterized by terms such as E-Learning, Hausa Language, Tutoring, Mentoring, Agile SDLC, and Educational Technology.
Why is the inclusion of the Hausa language critical to this system?
The research argues that students often struggle with curriculum subjects when they are taught solely in a non-native language, and using a mother tongue as a medium of instruction significantly improves their pace and depth of understanding.
How does the proposed system differ from traditional classroom settings?
Unlike traditional, manual classroom processes, this digital system offers personalized access to resources, mentoring support after school hours, and the flexibility to learn at an individual pace through modern digital devices.
