There is a word for how the world of today works: global. People have friends and e.g. relatives all over the world, they can chat via all those social media platforms and they can – thanks to cheap airlines- visit each other without a problem. When Corona showed up, being global got a new dimension. It was not so easy any more to visit each other, to travel and at least, it was not easy at all to work internationally. Before Corona it was normal to work all over the world and to work with and to work within different cultures. Especially, when doing business with each other, it is important to know how other cultures work and what their habits are. Within Europe the countries and their habits are not too different compared to each other but if one looks e.g. at the Asian countries, well there are differences, sometimes huge differences that make it even more important to know the culture and to be aware of those differences, when working together. This work should compare the way of leading a business in Germany and the way of doing in China. I took those countries because they are very different and in Germany China and its culture is not only seen in a positive way. There are reports about environmental pollution as well as producing fake products of popular brands. But many people also tend to forget that China has only recently opened itself to the world and has made its way quickly up. Are there now differences no one was aware of before? Are the cultures not so far from other as many people think? Are there parts where both countries work the same way? Of course, it is not possible to set up the one, right rule because people themselves are different and so are their characters, their way of living and for doing a scientific research, it is important to be aware of empiric data. During my research and within this work, I concentrated on the “typical” person, not taking the individual into account. I think it is important to understand the other culture and habits to do good businesses with each other and in accordance to the Globe Study, the work is built up in the following way.
