Excerpt from the Book
The principles and policies of Bangabandhu: the Base of Bangladesh
After the war-ravaged country, Bangabandhu took the initiative as the first prime minister of the state to take Bangladesh to another level. It is no doubt that Bangladesh had a weak political, economic and administrative infrastructure and therefore, Bangabandhu first and foremost tried to develop better infrastructure in the country. Bangabandhu understood that development should be done by giving prominence to the people of the country as they have already been worn out from the war. In the book ‘Bangabandhu the Peoples Hero (2020) mentions a speech made right after the independence and he states that
‘This independence would fail or remain incomplete if the people do not get food and unemployed youths do not get jobs”.
Bangabandhu dreamed of a Bangladesh that accomplished both social and economic advancements. He was a leader that understood the problems of the people. For his dream to be a reality, he took the basic steps and tried to achieve it one by one. It can be understood that he was a leader that knew what should be done. He knew that after attaining economic and social emancipation, then the people of the country is ready for political changes.
