This term paper in general is intended to present the differences between the Victorian Period and the Modern Period. It shows the differences of these two periods with the help of a comparative analysis of the two works The Mill on the Floss and Mrs. Dalloway. This is the second and main part of the term paper but before there is a short presentation presentation of the two periods, the two authors and the two novels in general. The first and a bit more theoretical part with the description of the periods and its authors in comparison with a short overview of the novels should help to understand the comparative analysis with my personal approaches way better.

Excerpt from the Book
Comparative analysis
Now we have reached the interesting part where I’d like to compare the two works out of the different periods in time. On the one hand side we have got “The Mill on the Floss” out of the Victorian Period where a class- based society, a growing number of people who are able to vote and Britain becoming a source of pride were central, while there is “Mrs Dalloway” out of the Modern period with the widespread changes that swept the whole world on the other hand side.
I want to compare the two works by having a look at two things which are the central part of every novel. My aim is to show you differences and similarities by having a closer look at the characters and the location because of course there are many different themes in both novels but here we start with two general similarities, the characters and locations, which are a central part in both novels and maybe end up with significant differences.
