4. Conclusion

Objectives and Topics

The primary objective of this assignment is to examine the environmental phenomenon of global warming by identifying its fundamental causes and analyzing its diverse consequences on ecosystems and society.

  • Analysis of greenhouse gas sources including CO2, methane, and nitrous oxide.
  • Evaluation of deforestation and urbanization impacts on atmospheric composition.
  • Assessment of climatic changes such as floods, droughts, and extreme weather events.
  • Investigation of shifts in animal behavior, vegetation patterns, and disease distribution.

Excerpt from the Book

The main source of carbon dioxide (CO2) is the power plants, which give out large amounts of it produced from burning of fossil fuels for the purpose of electricity generation.

The emission from any vehicle is a further key cause of about twenty percent CO2 in the atmosphere. The third substantial cause of pollution is buildings, which have need of much fuel. While burning it emits a huge amount of CO2 compared to cars (Gelbspan, 2004). The second causing gas is methane. It arises in rice fields, when they are flooded. The chemical reaction leads to the release of methane. The third concerned gas is nitrous oxide, caused by nylon and nitric acid production, especially through burning of organic matter (Gupta, 2001). The second main cause is deforestation caused by urbanization or expanding factories, which is to be blamed for 25% of all carbon dioxide release entering the atmosphere, by the cutting and burning of about 34 million acres of trees each year, which change the CO2 back to oxygen (http://www.globalwarming.org.in).

Summary of Chapters

1. Introduction: Defines global warming as an increase in world temperatures and establishes the scope of the essay regarding its causes and effects.

2. Causes of global warming: Details the primary drivers of the phenomenon, specifically fossil fuel combustion, vehicular emissions, building energy consumption, agricultural methane production, and deforestation.

3. Effects of global warming: Explores the wide-ranging environmental consequences, including extreme weather events, shifts in biological ecosystems, species migration, and the impact on human agriculture and health.

4. Conclusion: Summarizes that while the effects are numerous and partially unknown, the visibility of these climate changes confirms the severity of the situation.

Keywords

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the fundamental topic of this assignment?

The assignment explores the phenomenon of global warming, focusing on the specific reasons for its occurrence and the resultant impacts on the planet.

What are the central thematic areas?

The text focuses on anthropogenic causes of climate change, such as industrial emissions and land-use changes, and the ecological consequences, such as species extinction and disrupted weather patterns.

What is the primary objective of this study?

The goal is to provide a concise overview of how human activity contributes to global temperature increases and how those increases subsequently affect the natural world.

What scientific method is utilized in this work?

The work utilizes a literature-based review, synthesizing findings from various experts and climate studies to construct a summary of current environmental knowledge.

What aspects are covered in the main body of the text?

The main body examines sources of greenhouse gases like CO2, methane, and nitrous oxide, followed by a detailed discussion on the climatic, biological, and agricultural consequences of warming.

Which keywords best characterize this assignment?

Key terms include Global warming, Carbon dioxide, Deforestation, Climate change, Ecosystem, and Greenhouse effect.

How does deforestation specifically contribute to global warming?

Deforestation accounts for approximately 25% of CO2 release by removing the vegetation that naturally converts CO2 back into oxygen, and through the process of burning cleared trees.

What impact does global warming have on infectious diseases?

The paper notes that rising average temperatures facilitate the survival and faster multiplication of bacteria, potentially leading to the emergence of new diseases.
