Human resource planning is an important part for any organization. It ensures that a company is able to plan ahead to ensure the business’ objectives are achieved. This is the major underpinning of strategic human resource management, which is a business concept that seeks to align the objectives of the business with those of the employees. This paper therefore was an exploration of Midea Group Company and how it utilizes strategic human resource management (SHRM) to ensure continued success. The role of SHRM was analyzed as well as the important business factors that influence human resource planning. SHRM also makes use of the company structure and culture to ensure that employees understand their obligation at the company, and how they can contribute to the greater success of the business. The culture at Midea Group was also analyzed to get an insight as to how it affects the human resource management decisions.

There are several factors that can affect human resource planning at an organization. The main one includes state of the economy, labor market, technology, globalization and competition (Rastegar et al., 2012). Any business must pay keen attention to each of these business factors and align its human resource accordingly to ensure that it achieves its strategic objectives. State of the economy is important for an organization since it will impact the purchasing power of the consumers. If the state of the economy is poor, most of the people might be unable to purchase whatever the company is producing. The labor market is also crucial for any business or firm because it will determine whether the company will be able to find the right personnel to help the company achieve it production and service demands. Technology is another crucial business factor that aids in innovation of operation and products being produced by a company. Globalization is usually the goal for large companies. When a company has a global strategy, it must align its human resource department with the goals and objectives of the company. For the Midea Group Company, the two most important business factors are labor market and technology. These are core for the business operations that the company undertakes, and it will be important for the sustainability of the company in the present and future.
