The use of wind energy is not a new science, it is the rediscovery of a traditional technology. There are contradictory speculations about the historical origins of windmills. Some authors claim to have discovered the stone remains of windmills in Egypt near Alexandria, which are said to be 3000 years old. The first reliable historical source of the existence of a windmill dates back to 644 AD. There is a report of a windmill in the Persian-Afghan border region of Seistan. Since then, the functionality, the application
possibilities and of course the efficiency have been improved countless times. Today, the largest wind turbines rise up to over 200 meters and generate as much energy in one hour as a single-family house consumes on average in one year.
