This paper highlights the life and rule of egyptian queen Hatshepsut.

Egypt was commonly referred to as the land of men, as many of the rulers in Egypt were men. Despite this, several women managed to clinch power in Egypt, and one of them was Hatshepsut. Other women who became the queens of Egypt apart from Hatshepsut include Nefertiti, Sobekneferu, and Cleopatra VIII. Historically, the Egyptians believed there was a difference in how men and women ruled. Many would ask why the Egyptians believed that men were better at ruling than women, which led to more kings than queens in Egypt. Hatshepsut is different from the rest because she is the only Queen who ruled for the longest time, with her reign running for 22 consecutive years. During her tenure, she attained more glory than the other female pharaohs and even some of the kings who had ruled before her. Many thought she would underperform her predecessors when she came into power, but she did the unimaginable as a woman. Egypt never embraced women rulers, for they thought women were not good rulers. However, Queen Hatshepsut proved them wrong by being better than her predecessors and successors

Excerpt from the Book

2.5 Hatshepsut's leadership style

Cunning: Queen Hatshepsut is believed to be one of the most cunning leaders in Egypt out of all kings and queens who have ruled Egypt. She never stepped on the battlefield during her entire reign, which explains why she stayed in power for so long. According to historians, the Egyptians believed that the king should act as a role model during wars so that he could lead others at the frontline. Many of the kings who died while in power in Egypt died during the war. By not participating in any war, she was guaranteed to live longer in power even though she didn't as she would have expected. Due to her cunning leadership style, she could create ties with many nations, creating room for more development in Egypt.
