CONDUCTING EXTERNAL ENVIRONMENT AUDIT AT A COMPANY
External environment audit strengthen companies to monitor, carry out relevant evaluations and then avail pertinent information to essential persons within the company. This information enables decision makers to logically provide strategies not by wonder. As earlier mentioned in the introduction, Kibaale Development Company is provided as an example in conducting this external environment audit. It is done in the effort to avoid wondering at the company but strategize based on effectively scanned external environment. As argued by Morden (2007) entities have to be in the know of what scope of planning is needed for effective adaptation to the external environment. Below, Picture 1; demonstrates external environment which is outside the company while the internal environment is close to the company.
Fuel prices are persistently being increased which affects the functioning of the company in relation to use of vehicles, motorcycles and other machinery at work. When fuel prices keep increasing they affect the cost effectiveness of operations of the company and in the long run its survival. Therefore, Kibaale Development Company keeps alert on how to strategize effectively to manoeuvre the challenge of rising fuel prices, by for example reducing on the use of motor vehicles and others relying on fuel. This helps the company to minimise costs by deploying other cost effective means to continue managing the needed tasks.
