This study examined the relationship between relationship satisfaction and online intimacy of adults involved in cyberdating to better understand the relationship between the variables. A descriptive correlational research design was utilized. To measure the variables, the researcher used the Relationship Satisfaction Test and Personal Assessment of Intimacy in Relationships Inventory.
The study involved 100 couples, and data collection was conducted through various social media platforms. The study used frequency and percentage distribution, Pearson’s r correlation coefficient, and Multivariate Analysis of Variance (MANOVA) to determine the profile, the relationship, and the difference between variables. The study found that when cyberdating couples are not satisfied with their relationship. However, cyberdating couples have a high level of online intimacy in their relationship.
This study also explored various subscales to investigate the relationship and any differences that exist. When respondents were categorized by their sex, nationality, occupational status, and socio-economic status, when it comes to the significant difference between relationship satisfaction and online intimacy, there is a significant relationship. This study contributes to the understanding of cyberdating couples' diversity, unique relationships, and the intimacy they have with their partner.

Research Objectives and Themes
This thesis investigates the correlation between relationship satisfaction and online intimacy among adults in cyber-dating relationships. The central research question explores how demographic factors, specifically sex, race, occupational status, and socio-economic status, influence these variables and whether there exists a statistically significant relationship between the level of satisfaction and the degree of intimacy achieved in online dating environments.
- The influence of digital technology on romantic relationship maintenance.
- The role of various types of intimacy (emotional, sexual, social, etc.) in online dating.
- The impact of internal stress and attachment styles on relationship quality.
- Demographic factors affecting relationship dynamics in virtual settings.
Excerpt from the Book
Introduction
A relationship is formed when two individuals spend ample time together and slowly develop feelings for each other as time passes by. With the advancement of technology and social media websites, more people are interested in meeting their significant other to-be online. When meeting people online, there are risks such as scams or stealing someone’s identity using their profile picture or pretending to be someone else. Cyberdating became a norm for adults who prefers talking or chatting to people without physically meeting them. Cyberdating not only changed the traditional dating context but it also changed views on early marriage, having children, staying single, and cohabitation. A satisfying experience through a romantic relationship with a partner improves an individual's mental health and happiness levels, allows them to experience positive emotions, and influences the development of a positive self-concept (Lee et al., 2021).
