"A Small Village in the Austrian Alps" is a book about some small village in the Alps—its possibilities and its realities. This exploration also opens up a view of universality: there are many villages in the Alps; I describe one, but it could just as well be any of the others, as they all share certain characteristics. I write about the landscape, the way of life, local customs, and practiced animal welfare. I have also sought to convey the significance of small villages for the overall economy and way of life.

Preface
This non-fiction book offers an insight into how we might shape the future...
For me, now in retirement, A small village in the Austrian Alps was part of my efforts to put the puzzle pieces of my life together to form a whole.
This non-fiction book offers an insight into how we could shape the future.
I chose the genre term ‘biographical non-fiction’ because, although I want to write objectively about my homeland, this text is written from my point of view; it is formulated as I see and experience life in the Austrian Alps, but also how I imagine a development towards the preservation of this culture and increased environmental protection.
How did I come to this topic? - After reading my novel "The Search for the Three Treasures", I was asked privately to write about villages in the Alps of Austria, since there is nothing close to it on the market, only individual essays, articles and contributions.
However, I am afraid to write a non-fiction book about the village I had in mind because it reflects a personal judgment and others may not agree with it. That is why I'm writing a book about any small village in the Alps, its possibilities and realities. This observation also reveals universality: There are many villages in the Alps; I describe one, but it could also be one of the many others, because they all have certain characteristics in common.
So there is no point in looking for this village. It could be any or none.
The fotos and drawings are not compatible, either.
