This paper is primarily based on literature research and it is divided among five parts, which are: (1) Introduction (2) The Approach to Sampling (3) Purposive Sampling (4) Purposive Sampling and Its Holistic Applicability (5) Conclusion. The discussions are aimed at explaining the necessity of sampling in general and purposive sampling in particular. The paper also attempts to homogenise the various management studies fields and scenarios.

Zusammenfassung der Kapitel (Chapter Summaries)
- Introduction: This section establishes the importance of sampling, particularly purposive sampling, in research. It highlights the practical challenges of obtaining data from large populations and the need for alternative approaches.
- The Approach to Sampling: This chapter delves into the complexity of sampling in qualitative research, focusing on the various types of sampling and the potential challenges of terminology and inconsistency. The need for a targeted and purposeful approach to address these problems is emphasized.
- Purposive Sampling: This chapter introduces purposive sampling as a non-probability sampling method. It outlines its benefits and its application in qualitative research and phenomenology. The section highlights the targeted and purposeful nature of this sampling method and its suitability for specific research objectives.
- Purposive Sampling and Its Holistic Applicability: This section explores the practical applications of purposive sampling in scenarios involving large populations with limited access or rare populations with limited sample size. The paper argues for the use of purposive sampling as a reliable research method in such environments.
