This research is concerned with education employment equation in education sector. This
research will be based on perception of employers, teachers and students about the competencies
the graduates possess. Many employers think that employability skills should be shaped
somewhere else in graduates before entering workplace, throughout the curriculum at all levels.
They think that students should be prepared for workplace. It is suspected that widening the
access of higher education has increased the heterogeneity of the skills of the students in the
industry. Employers have indicated that students are often not prepared for the workplace and
call on universities to produce work-ready graduates. Educational institutions are under pressure
to generate competent students, so that they are able to respond in ever changing environment
This study aims to explore the level of competencies perceived by employers, teacher’s
perception about their students and students themselves perception about their competencies and
identify the gaps that need to be addressed. This research will focus where students of Comsats
are standing in case of competencies according to employers, teachers and their own perception.
The gaps between the ranks are evaluated. The study is conducted by applying convenience
sampling method. To determine the internal consistency, Cronbach Alpha test of the individual
variables is applied, the overall reliability is found to be acceptable.

Chapter Summaries
CHAPTER #1 INTRODUCTION: This chapter sets the stage for the research by outlining the study's objectives and its significance. It introduces the central problem of a potential mismatch between the skills graduates acquire and the skills employers require. The chapter highlights the growing concern among employers about graduates' readiness for the workplace and underscores the need to bridge the competency gap. The introduction lays the groundwork for the subsequent chapters by establishing the context and rationale for the research.
CHAPTER #2 LITERATURE REVIEW: This chapter reviews existing literature on competency gaps between professional education and employer expectations. It delves into the international landscape of skills mismatches and examines the application of competency gap analysis in various contexts. This chapter provides a theoretical foundation and relevant background information, drawing on prior research to contextualize the current study and justify its approach. The review likely includes various studies and analyses that show how the problem of mismatched skills is not unique to the specific area of focus but a widespread issue.
CHAPTER #3 RESEARCH METHODOLOGY: This chapter details the research design, sampling technique, research instruments used, and data collection methods. It explains the theoretical framework underpinning the study, as well as the hypotheses being tested. This section provides a transparent and rigorous account of how the research was conducted, allowing for assessment of its validity and reliability. The discussion of sampling technique likely includes the justification for the chosen method (convenience sampling) and potential limitations.
CHAPTER #4 FINDING AND DISCUSSION: This chapter presents and analyzes the research findings, discussing the results in relation to the objectives of the study. It likely compares the perceptions of employers, teachers, and students about the competencies of graduates, highlighting any significant discrepancies. The chapter analyzes the data collected to identify the specific areas where gaps exist. The discussion section would interpret the findings in the context of existing literature and theories.
