CHAPTER FIVE: THE SAVANT

INT. YMCA -- SWIMMING POOL -- DAY

Mr. Kamal swims around in the pool with Yostina.

Andrew sits alone and reads a book. Yostina purposely splashes water on him.

Unable to properly express his anger, Andrew simply jumps up and down and groans.

Yostina laughs.

ANDREW

It’s not funny! Can’t you see I’m soaked? How am I supposed to read now?!!!

MR. KAMAL

Andrew, you don’t come to the YMCA to read.

YOSTINA

Yeah! You don’t come here to read.

ANDREW

I don’t know how to swim.

MR. KAMAL

Then I’ll teach you. Or you can just float around in the water. Get cooled off.

ANDREW

I have to go to the bathroom.

Mr. Kamal continues playing with Yostina.

Andrew leaves.

INT. YMCA -- RECREATION ROOM -- DAY

On his way to the restroom, Andrew spots TWO BOYS (close to his age) playing Ping-Pong.

In your face!
