This research will analyze the obstacles faced by small and medium sized enterprises in Pakistan, Bangladesh and India.
This research will determine the magnitude of the obstacles and provide the statistics about the obstacles faced by small and medium enterprises in Pakistan, Bangladesh and India by using the data from World Bank Enterprise Survey and with the help of graphical analysis. Moreover growth of firms will be studied by applying Pearson’s correlation analysis.

Research Objectives and Core Themes
The primary research objective is to evaluate the magnitude of various obstacles—such as limited access to finance, energy shortages, corruption, and regulatory burdens—faced by small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Pakistan, Bangladesh, and India, and to determine their subsequent impact on firm growth. The study aims to bridge the gap in existing literature by utilizing World Bank Enterprise Survey data to provide empirical evidence for these emerging economies.
- Analysis of institutional and operational barriers to SME growth.
- Comparative statistical assessment of obstacles across three SAARC nations.
- Investigation into the relationship between SME growth and economic indicators.
- Application of correlation analysis to assess firm performance.
- Identification of policy-relevant factors for enhancing the business environment.

For the developing countries to cope up with globalization and to compete and survive in this age of competition, healthy and flourishing sector of SMEs is very much important and is required for the growth and development.
