Abstract or Introduction
Has the American Century really reached its end and no American Exceptionalism will be claimed anymore? Or is the world going to be shifted into a Non-Western world henceforth? Would the world give up Americanization after all and the current centers of power are going to wine as everyone else rises?
Fareed Zakaria’s book The Post-American World tries to answer all these questions and more other ones concerning the future of the world’s culture where he enquires whether it will be modern or Western and the complications concerning this issue.
This essay is going to analyze Fareed Zakaria’s chapter three “A Non-Western World” from his book The Post American World, which was perceived with surprising reactions on both levels; the Western and the non-Western world, in addition to that, there will be some references to Louis Menand’s The Promise of Freedom, the Friend of Authority and Jean Baudrillard’s famous book America.
