Accor hotels performs different practices for the wellbeing of the employees which are analysed in this essay.
The hospitality industry is very dynamic and diverse and it is not easy to meet the customer expectations. Managing the staff and retaining them is a critical job which the human resource team performs. Human resource management is crucial for the survival, performance and success of any enterprise.
Accor hotels is a multinational hotel group which owns a franchise of over five thousand plus hospitality outlets in 110 plus countries all across the world with several different brands. The brands which Accor owns are from budget, economy to five-star accommodation. Accor is a French multinational organisation that owns and manages the hotels resorts and vacation properties and its operations. It is the largest hospitality company in all over Europe and sixth largest all over worldwide. Accor has over forty-three brands from luxury to economy. Accor operates with more than three lacs plus employees. With a corporate example throughout the world, Accor Hotels (Accor) has turned out to be one of the biggest players in the hospitality industry. Accor divides the brands in Luxury, Premium, mid-scale, and economy.

Accor in Asia, particularly in India have started with the Accor Employee Wellbeing Program. This program helps and supports its employee to remain calm even under tremendous pressure, it also helps in dealing with difficult and to resolve any personal or professional issues. 24 x 7 trained and experienced counsellors are available for the team members if they need any help during emotional and stressful situation. Also, during this unfortunate and critical situation of the pandemic of COVID 19 Accor provided resources for the wellbeing of the severely affected staff. It has been the worst crisis that hospitality has seen ever before. Employees mental health and physical wellbeing is being considered as the top most priority by Accor. Accor has started programs and apps which can be operated form home. This has been helping employees in a very positive way. Michael Issenberg, Chairman and CEO Accor Asia Pacific state that, “many of the employees are facing reduced working hours or some of them have been ceased from working and this is causing enormous stress to the employees hence Accor is devoted to offer its assistance to protect the mental and physical wellbeing of the teams to ensure they can get through this and that they emerge stronger than ever when the rebound comes back.”
