Md Zainal Abedin is a PhD candidate in Digital Transformation and Innovation at the University of Ottawa—one of Canada’s premier research institutions—where he holds the prestigious International Doctoral Award. His research sits at the critical intersection of Generative AI, responsible innovation, higher education pedagogy, and strategic governance, aiming to develop theory-driven, policy-relevant solutions for an AI-driven world.
With a truly interdisciplinary foundation across five research-oriented master’s degrees—spanning Digital Transformation, Business Administration (MIS), Social Sciences, and Media Studies—Abedin brings an uncommon breadth of analytical rigor to complex problems. His academic journey spans the United Kingdom (University of South Wales) and Canada, giving him a global perspective on technology-enabled innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainability.
Before his doctoral studies, Abedin served as an Assistant Professor at Z.H. Sikder University of Science and Technology and World University of Bangladesh, where he led curriculum development, outcome-based education reforms, and student growth initiatives.
