Public Relations comes from Greek word meaning semantics which indicate attracting people to trust things or do things and this gives a good characterization of Public Relations. Public Relations is a new field for our country. Majority of organizations, companies and firms still do not have this field, while in some others have been established, they do not always bring necessary efficiency due to the lack of knowledge, education and deficient trainings in this field. Nevertheless, Public Relations is considered as a profession of the 21st century, increases its prominence.

But, PR as a profession is misunderstood in Azerbaijan. There are a lot of people who do not figure out what does PR mean, while others consider it as a profession of minor importance. There are some people said that PR and Press or PR and Marketing have the same responsibilities and the departments are not separated.

The primary objective of this work is to analyze the current state of Public Relations (PR) in Azerbaijan, identifying existing challenges and proposing strategies for professional development. Education & Training

In general, PR is a profession that is recognized as a new field in Azerbaijan and not everyone knows the meaning of PR. PR as a profession has its own values, rights and codes of ethics. What is required is for Azerbaijan people to find out that. They have to understand what does PR mean and why PR as a profession is very important in Azerbaijan. They have to understand that Public Relations mean communication for private and governmental organizations. And in PR, who communicate well and understand the public, promotes the image of the company in the best manner.

The trainings or courses should be held, the seminars, conferences should be organized and it the best way for improving PR as a profession. Organizing of seminars on PR is a reasonable solution. Each seminar`s aim has to determine the main terms such as what does PR mean, its value and to set expectations. In those seminars, the practitioner could also let employees know who he is and what is he doing. For example, it could be the first steps such as follows: He might say here who I am and what I`m doing. Here is what we will do. Here is what I am looking forward to obtain with your help. Here are our aims and objectives, strategy and tactics, etc.
