This research was aimed at establishing the different means of solid waste disposal and their effect on sanitation and water standards of the people of Mbale municipality. The research solely focused on analysis of the legal controls on wastes management and pollution of water sources in abide to establish the strengths and weaknesses of the same so as to come up with recommendations.
The research carried out was primarily concerned with an assessment of the legal controls for waste management and pollution of water sources in Mbale city. The researchers enthusiasm was driven by the fact that irrespective of there being in place a legal framework/ controls for waste management and pollution of water sources, poor waste management and pollution of water sources is still of concern to Mbale city today and to deny the facts would be complete denial and betrayal of truth.
