There is a place in the world that bespeaks of indefinable chaos and difficulties. The very reason is that their lands are being seized by other people who never respected their rights to live in a peaceful way. They are not also given the opportunity participate in political processes due to their racial and ethnic profiles. The people living in the said place are often regarded as people without a state or stateless people. These people are called Kurds who are non-Arabs living in Arab countries. For so many years, the continuing struggle of the Kurds to keep the land that is rightfully theirs is overwhelming. Their ambition to fully participate in political processes is widespread. Under the cloak of self-determination and freedom, many Kurds are still fighting against the Arab people amidst the grueling political movements, insurgency, uprisings and rebellion as well as escape to find economic opportunities in other countries.

It highlights the ongoing conflict between the Kurds and Arab populations, marked by the Kurds' fight for land rights, political participation, and economic opportunities amidst political unrest and displacement. The chapter establishes the geographical and political complexities of Kurdistan and the pervasive underdevelopment of the region despite its natural resource wealth.
The Role of the Kurds and Their Parties: This section emphasizes the vital role of Kurdish political parties in achieving independence and self-determination. It illustrates how Kurdish parties utilize various strategies, including defense mechanisms (as seen in Iraq), to protect their communities and pursue their political goals. The chapter underscores the importance of internal peace and unity among Kurds, alongside their fight for recognition of their rights within the countries they inhabit.
Self-Determination for the Kurds: This chapter delves into the concept of self-determination as a core tenet of the Kurdish struggle, stemming from historical land seizures by Arab populations. It highlights the continuous struggle to regain fundamental human rights and the right to live freely in Kurdistan. The pursuit of self-determination is presented as the central point of conflict between Kurds and Arabs, emphasizing the importance of the Kurds' right to life, freedom, and protection.
The Situation of Kurds in Turkey: This chapter details the long history of denied basic rights for Kurds in Turkey, specifically the suppression of their culture and traditions. The example of the headscarf ban is used to illustrate the ongoing political challenges faced by Kurds. The chapter also discusses the pressure from Turkey to acknowledge equal rights for Kurdish people, while highlighting the past denial of educational, religious, political, and personal freedoms.
The Situation of Kurds in Syria: This section focuses on the precarious situation of approximately 300,000 stateless Kurds in Syria, resulting from denationalization policies. The chapter illustrates the denial of employment, education, political participation, and basic civil rights faced by these stateless Kurds.
