2 Full-Service Network Carrier

A Full-Service Network Carrier (FSNC) is an international airline that operates a network-oriented system, offers several transport classes, and uses differentiated flight and airport services. These services included meals, connecting baggage services and additional services such as comforters, like blankets or headphones on medium or long-haul flights (Acar & Karabulak, 2015).

A Full-Service Network Carrier focuses on customer care, pricing, advertising, and distribution strategies as a network carrier's product policy aims at a comprehensive and differentiated range of products. FNSC is intended to serve the entire range of customers and provide a complete service along the entire service chain (Lohmann & Spasojevic, 2018).

For example, Lufthansa offers digital services for travel preparation, including instant flight status and passenger upgrade options, and pre-flight and airport services, like online check-in, digital document check, and late-night check-in, which provide the opportunity to drop off the luggage at specific airports the night before the flight.

Detailed guidelines provide information about baggage limitations and lounges, boarding requirements, airport information and services, food and beverages, and entertainment on board (Lufthansa, 2023).
