This study investigated the value of Polytechnic Libraries in North Central Zone. Survey research technique was used and structured questionnaires were the main instrument to collect data from 100 respondents out of which 80 respondents yielded a response rate of 80% and respondents from selected polytechnic librarians yielded a response rate of 100%.
The value of Polytechnic Libraries in North-Central zone cannot be over-emphasized. Academic libraries are those that are established in tertiary institutions such as Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges of Education etc. Their major function is to provide Information resources and services that support the attainment of the broad objectives of Teaching Learning and Research activities of the parent institution also research and the advancement of knowledge in a wide variety of subjects. It is a central service or unit of operation set up to provide location, materials and facilities for study, academic library is to serve as an auxiliary to the parent institution in carrying out its objectives.

This research aims to evaluate the role, utilization, and value of polytechnic libraries within the North-Central zone of Nigeria. The primary goal is to assess how effectively these library services support the teaching, learning, and research activities of polytechnic students and academics, while identifying the key constraints that hinder optimal library operation.

1.2 STATEMENT OF PROBLEM
The ability of the Polytechnic Library to provide available learning resources is continually being undermined and called into question despite the fact that the Library is the supportive input for any academic education for teaching, learning and research. It is observe that various institution most especially Polytechnic within North-Central zone does not provide adequate resources for their Libraries and also, in place where those materials where available they are not carefully organized for easy accessibility and utilization by users. In the essence of these study is to investigate the following: the information materials in the Library to meet the needs of Polytechnic students, services rendered by Polytechnic Libraries to students, the usage of the Library by Polytechnic students.
