The objectives of the research are the following:

a) To explore the impact such a war can have on the global economy, especially though boycotting specific companies.

b) To evaluate the impacts of the conflict on Palestinian businesses, trade and employment opportunities.

c) To explore international efforts and potential resolutions, examining the challenges in achieving a peaceful solution.

This topic holds significant relevance due to the ongoing and escalated tensions in the region which could lead to severe destruction and the humanitarian implications for Palestinian civilians. This research seeks to provide an objective examination of the systemic impact of conflict on Palestinian communities and the barriers to peace. Furthermore, it shows how the Palestinian People were treated over the period of the illegal settlement, especially regarding the latest developments since October the 7th, and the double standards regarding Western Media.

Excerpt from the Book

1.1 Background Information

The Israeli-Palestinian conflict is one of the longest-running and most complex geopolitical disputes in modern history. Rooted in territorial claims, religious tensions, and colonial legacies, the conflict has been going for more than a century. The Palestinian population has been particularly affected, suffering from military occupation, economic isolation, and repeated wars. The occupied Palestinian territory (oPt) has faced 55 years of Israeli military occupation, leading to a political crisis marked by humanitarian concerns, internal Palestinian divisions, and repeated violence. The lack of a sustainable political solution fuels aid dependency and economic hardship, exacerbated by rapid population growth.

Since 2007, an Israeli-imposed blockade in Gaza, combined with movement restrictions and repeated escalations, has harmed the lives of 2.2 million people. The blockade, combined with restrictions at the Rafah crossing, limits access to goods and opportunities, putting further tension on development. Israeli occupation policies in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, separate Palestinian communities by imposing movement restrictions, settlement expansion, and the separation barrier, which have an impact on their rights, economy, and daily lives. The broader conflict, including military actions by Israeli forces and Palestinian armed groups, deepens insecurity, slows socioeconomic progress, and inhibit political solutions.

By early 2024, up to 96% of Gaza's agricultural infrastructure including water supply, farm animals, and storage facilities had been destroyed, catastrophic food shortages. The private sector also suffered significant losses, with 82% of businesses being damaged or destroyed. As military operations continue, the economic damage worsens.
