The issues of climate change and resource scarcity present major challenges on the plight of humans around the globe. For instance, climate change is considered a major threat to international security as well as peace. It leads to considerable displacement of humans and the enhancement of competition for natural resources. Climate change and resource scarcity are no longer future scenarios owing to their manifestation around the world. People currently compete for land, water and forage, among other scarce resources. It is important to note that communities, nations and individuals are not uniformly affected by climate change and resource scarcity. This development stems from the vulnerability, responsibility and ability to handle these aspects by various stakeholders. Issues such as geography, politics, economic might and technology contribute towards corresponding effects of climate change on a population.
