This research analyzes the causes of employee turnover and abandonment in the production area of Minth Mexico Coatings and its impact on the supply chain. The company has turnover rates between 7% and 12% per month, which are higher than the internal target of 3%. This has an impact on productivity, operational continuity, hiring and training costs, and compliance with the deadlines established within the production process.
The theoretical framework addresses key concepts such as employee turnover, its types and causes, job abandonment, human capital management, organizational climate, job motivation, and supply chain functioning. These fundamentals provide an understanding of the relationship between working conditions and the operational efficiency of an automotive company, where staff stability is essential to ensure quality and continuous production flow.
The study was developed using a quantitative, descriptive-correlational approach, applying a Likert-type questionnaire to a sample of 10% of the operators in the production area. The results show that the main factors associated with turnover are internal and relate to deficiencies in leadership and supervision, lack of recognition, low motivation, insufficient training, and an uncooperative work environment. It was also identified that turnover causes work overload, decreased area performance, and loss of trained personnel, directly affecting the supply chain.
The findings allowed the alternative hypothesis to be accepted, confirming that turnover and job abandonment do have a significant impact on the supply chain. Finally, recommendations are proposed aimed at strengthening leadership, improving internal communication, structuring training programs, and establishing retention strategies that contribute to reducing turnover and improving operational efficiency in the company.
