The study aims to identify the impact of Covid 19 on Morrisons’s leadership style and management practices. Here, the impacts and changes from 2020 to 2022 have been presented.
Wm Morrison Supermarkets, which also does business as Morrisons, is the 4th biggest supermarket chain in the UK. As of the year 2021, the firm owned and ran a total of 497 supermarkets, with a single location in Gibraltar, Scotland, Wales, and England. The headquarters of the company may be found in Bradford, which is located in England. As a result of its humble beginnings in 1899 as a stall selling eggs and butter in Rawson Market in Bradford, England, the company came to be known simply as Wm Morrison.
Before the year 2004, the vast majority of Morrisons' shop locations were clustered around the Northern region of England. However, due to the purchase of Safeway in the same year, the scale of the company's presence in Wales, Scotland, and the southern region of England significantly increased (Bailey & Breslin, 2021). It was greater than Aldi's (7%), however it trailed behind Tesco (27.8%), Sainsbury's (15.8%), and Asda (15.3%). In 2022, the market share of company is 9.1% (Wilson & Newstead, 2022). The company remained publicly traded on the London Stock Exchange all the way up to October 2021, when it was finally acquired by Clayton, Dubilier & Rice. Morrisons have about 497 stores in the UK. As of February 2021, Morrisons employed around 110,000 people, and the grocery store chain served approximately 11 million customers each week (Vahdat, 2021).

Mission of Morrisons is to “to provide each and every one of its consumers, regardless of where they reside, the absolute greatest value for the money when it comes to their weekly shopping” (Tulowitzki, et al, 2022)
Morrisons has a Functional Organizational Structure, which indicates that the functions are segmented into several departments, and the manager of each department is accountable for maintaining that the responsibilities are carried out successfully (Wren & Bedeian, 2020). In Morrison, there is a department for Operations, a department for Finance and Accounting, a department for Marketing and Sales, and an HRM department.
