Contemporary information, knowledge and scientific results acquiring, developing and sharing are at the crossroads. New generation Internet and networking technology are not only media and measures for successful information and knowledge sharing, but also a platform for new generation knowledge building, further networking and opening new areas for research and development. Todays and future scholars and students are expected to be experts not only in their own scientific area. In order to ensure an appropriate, timely and targeted communication, they need to act also as networkers and science developers in a new and ever changing environment. Network is the most appropriate channel, resource, model and technology, offering the growing knowledge development potential.

Research Objectives and Themes

This scholarly paper explores the transformative impact of the Internet and networking on the generation, sharing, and commercialization of knowledge, arguing that knowledge has become the most critical resource in the modern post-industrial economy. The research examines how traditional organizational structures are being replaced by network-based systems and assesses the socio-economic implications of this paradigm shift.

Excerpt from the Book

2.2. Power of Knowledge

„Scientia potestas est“(Bacon), Even in the Bacon's age knowledge meant power, but recently power of the knowledge signs the time.

Technocracy is a term used to describe infiltration process of intelligence - scientific or technical, into political and economic institutions responsible for key decisions making.

Technocrat is a person that knows how to prepare scientific and other special knowledge into secret information, because only secret information - not publicly known, is the most appropriate to be offered to information market.

During the middle of the 20th century political elites set some basic rules upon technology transfer control. In 1949 in USA was established the Law on control, aiming to control technology transfer to Eastern countries. In 1950 USA and EU countries established COCOM (Coordination Committee for Multilateral Export Control), to ensure control on technology export from West to East Europe. Hundreds of products, resources and technologies controlled by COCOM, had minimal chances for transfer to socialist countries.
