Contraceptive use by sexually active female students in a College setting is both practical and intelligent. Reliable, consistent, and therapeutically correct contraceptive use prevents unintended pregnancies and assures a greater likelihood of uninterrupted or impeded higher education for the young woman. The objective of this study was to assess contraceptive use and identify the factors associated with contraceptive use.
An institutional based cross-sectional survey was conducted among 1067 female college students of Wolaita Soddo ATVET from October 21, 2016 to November 9, 2016. Multistage sampling technique with Probabilities proportional to size was used. After data collection, each questionnaire was checked for completeness and consistency. Data was analyzed by manually then different frequency tables, graphs and descriptive summaries were used to describe the study variables and 95% Confidence Intervals to adjust for possible confounding variables.

Zusammenfassung der Kapitel (Chapter Summaries)
1. Introduction: This chapter introduces the study, highlighting the importance of contraceptive use among sexually active female college students to prevent unintended pregnancies and ensure educational continuity. It establishes the problem of low contraceptive use and its implications, underscoring the significance of the study in addressing this issue within the context of Wolaita Soddo ATVET College.
2. Literature Review: This chapter reviews existing literature on contraceptive use, focusing on relevant studies and theories that inform the current research. It explores gender-based violence among college students and its potential impact on contraceptive use. The chapter also delves into the importance of contraception for young people and presents a conceptual framework for the study. This framework likely guides the research methodology and data analysis to be applied later in the paper.
3. Objective: This chapter outlines the general and specific objectives of the research. The general objective likely focuses on assessing contraceptive use, while the specific objectives probably detail the various aspects of contraceptive usage and associated factors the study intends to explore. These objectives should clearly shape the methodologies and the analysis of the data presented later on in the report.
4. METHODS: This chapter describes the research methodology, including the study design (institution-based cross-sectional study), sampling technique (multistage sampling with probabilities proportional to size), data collection methods (questionnaires), and data analysis procedures. It outlines the study population, sample size, and ethical considerations. Details of the data collection process and the employed statistical methods are crucial to understanding the validity and reliability of the research findings.
5. RESULTS: This chapter presents the findings of the study, including sociodemographic characteristics of respondents, prevalence rates of contraceptive utilization, family planning knowledge, attitudes, and practices. Results related to contraceptive practices and pregnancy-related characteristics are also presented. The presentation of this data likely uses descriptive statistics (like percentages and frequencies) and potentially inferential statistical tests, depending on the research questions. A detailed presentation of the collected data will support the study's conclusions.
