Question: „Thanks for taking the time to answer a few questions. That is very nice and helpful. May I first ask, where do you come from and what exactly is your work?“

(1) Answer: „I am a Sierra Leonean,my my work is centered around Advocacy,promoting and protecting the the rights of women and girls.“

Question: „What do I have to imagine? What are your priorities?“

(2) Answer: „Women's and girls empowerment.like girl child education,elimination of female genital mutilation,and early/forced married“

Question: „In my studies, I deal with reasons for Female Geniatal Mutilation or Cutting. What would you say to Sierra Leone? Which reasons do you encounter most often?“

(3) Answer: „Which reason do the I encounter most often on what? let the questions be straightforward,and I will give answers exactly.“

Question: „Sorry, my english is not very good. I hope I can express well what I mean. I would like to know what the people in Sierra Leone say. What do families think about it? How do you justify having their daughters cut?“

(4) Answer: „It's okay Anne,from both religious (Muslim and Christian perspective as well as health perspective most Sierra Leoneans included girls are against this harmfully practice“

(6) Answer: „Most of them are against this practice they now priotize education to FGM,coz they see FGM as one of the cause of Teenage pregnancy and early marriage“

Question: „That is interesting. I did not know that. Most literature speaks here in Germany speaks of most FGM find good. Was that still the case recently?“

(7) Answer: „As earlier told you most women who went such initiation have really regretted it and even refer to it as deprivation and for those who have not been there do not even wish to go there“

(8) Answer: „FGM has a lot of negative implications in the lives of many women and girls,which is therefore preventing other girls not to go“

Question: „It's nice to see that many women are against it now. I've heard that in the beginning it's not easy for many to talk about FGM and that it's a taboo subject. Is that still true or has it changed too?“

(9) Answer: „It is really true before you can talk about it,but we have crossed that level,from many finding it has been discovered that F G M results to poverty and other social and health implications“

(10) Answer: „If you are on WhatsApp I will post you some pics of the initiators who are in favor of girls education instead of FGM“

Question: „Oh, I'm sorry, that would be very interesting. But unfortunately I do not have whatsapp. Too bad“

Question: „You had already written that before and I find that interesting: how does FGM lead to poverty and early marriage?“

(11) Answer: „Excessive use of their resources during the initiation process,and when they don't have much to spend,a man would volunteer to pay the expenses and later ask the parents to give their daughter which will then lead to early or forced marriage thus increasing poverty and other health complications.“

Question: „That sounds logical. You said that many women are against FGM right now, because they themselves have bad experiences with it and understand how many problems FGM is doing. Was and is this also a success of your work?“

(12) Answer: „Talking about it now is a success,the initiators and parents priotizing education is another,because priotizing girls education,leads to increase enrollment and retention of girls in schools“

Question: „Talk about it ... That's a good keyword. I study in Germany and here we have many women and girls from countries where FGM is normal. Also from Sierra Leone. Due to the migration, we are increasingly dealing with those affected. As a white social worker, what can I learn from your work when I work with women from Sierra Leone in Germany who have been cut?“

(13) Answer: „That women in Sierra Leone are working hard to eliminate F G M practice“

Question: „I think so. And I have a lot of respect for your work. What do you think, as a white European woman with affected women about FGM into conversation? It may be necessary in some situations. What do you think is the condition that such a conversation goes well and what should I avoid?“

(14) Answer: „There is always an entering point in doing that, you can use one of the tools like the problem tree Ask what are some of the main problems in Sierra Leone,their causes and effects. I believe that will lead you to a fruitful discussion.“

Question: „That is, I should not address it directly, but indirectly.“

(15) Answer: „Oh yeah. or even ask girl child education support or FGM support,which one is preferable,and any of the answer ask why“
