Man weiss in Deutschland, was ein “literarisches Chanson” ist, d.h. man „erkennt es“. Bisher wurde der Begriff jedoch nicht befriedigend definiert und von verwandten, wie „Couplet“, „(Pop) Song“ oder „Schlager“, abgegrenzt. Dies unternimmt der Autor hier, wobei er auf sein Buch und mehrere Artikel zum gleichen Thema zurückkommt und deren Ergebnisse zusammenfasst.
In Germany, anyone can „recognize“ a “cabaret song“, but hardly anyone can define it or differentiate it from related genres (like e.g. the "Stage Couplet”, or the “Pop Song”). The author attempts to do this by means of combining the insights of a prior book and several articles of his on the same topic.
