The purpose of this research is to perform a thorough analysis of the literature in order to obtain a better understanding of the term known as safety behaviours in high-rise building. Additionally, factors influencing the safety behaviour of employees in the construction of a high-rise building are also analysed. To achieve this goal, the three objectives outlined are to:

a) Determine proper conduct between management commitment, safety awareness training, PPE and employees’ safety behaviour in the construction of high rise building.

Zusammenfassung der Kapitel (Chapter Summaries)

CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION: This introductory chapter establishes the context of the research by highlighting the high rate of occupational injuries and fatalities in the Malaysian high-rise construction sector. It uses data from the Department of Workplace Safety and Health (DOSH) to illustrate the severity of the problem and emphasizes the need for improved safety practices. The chapter presents a problem statement outlining the disproportionate number of fatalities in the construction sector, especially among foreign workers, and the tendency for management to prioritize project progress over employee safety. The research objectives are clearly defined, focusing on determining the relationship between management commitment, safety awareness training, PPE, and employee safety behavior. Research questions are formulated to guide the investigation, and a hypothesis is proposed suggesting that these three factors have varying levels of influence on employee safety behavior. Finally, the chapter outlines the significance of the study and its methodology, involving a survey of 100 employees at TME Builders Sdn. Bhd. and data analysis using IBM SPSS.
