Bio
Shepherd Mutsvara is a Research Affiliate with the Migration Law Research Group at Ghent University. His research focuses on the refugee definition, EU asylum law and border externalization. His wider research interests include economic migration, racism and discrimination in the context of human (im)mobility, and Africa’s refugee policy and protection. Shepherd holds a PhD in Political Sciences and Administration from the University of the National Education Commission in Krakow (UKEN) and an LLM in Public International Law from the University of London. Besides being a member of the editorial team for the Encyclopedia for Migration Law, an initiative of the Kluwer Law Online, Shepherd is also a Mentor in the Displaced Scholars Peer Mentoring Program provided by the Andrew & Renata Kaldor Centre for International Refugee Law at UNSW Sydney.
