Biografía
Dr. Massoud Pourmandi holds a PhD in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Boğaziçi University in Istanbul, Türkiye, awarded in 2023. His doctoral research focused on low-density parity-check (LDPC) codes and their application to distributed storage systems, with particular attention to efficient data repair and error-correcting code design.
His research interests span machine learning, artificial intelligence, information theory, and biomedical applications. He is particularly interested in medical image analysis, large language models, and the development of AI tools for research and education. His technical background includes scientific computing and machine learning using Python, MATLAB, and PyTorch.
He is the author of Machine Learning for Wound Image Analysis: From Mathematical Foundations to Research Practice, which connects mathematical principles with practical methods for analysing wound images. Alongside his research and writing, he has taught and tutored mathematics, physics, programming, and machine learning, with an emphasis on clear explanations and the connection between theory and practice.
