While alert level 1 is currently in effect, High School-Senior Department, started a new normal set-up and considered the conduct of limited face-to-face classes applying a hybrid type of teaching and learning process.
This study utilized a fish bone diagram to determine the problems encountered during its implementation in a limited time and analyses on its implementation like the challenges encountered, strengths and weaknesses manifested, opportunities observed, and recommendations for further improvement.
The results showed that it is crucial to concentrate on capacity building of teachers and their professional development and familiarity on various traditional and online teaching and learning approaches, e-learning resources, and tools to facilitate effectively. Provision of good and stable internet connectivity and durable digital devices both for students and teachers must be addressed seriously.
Online technology is precious for teaching and learning to close digital divide. Moreover, having LMS may be considered among the public schools since leading countries and schools already adopted and tested it successfully. High degree of emergency readiness is also needed among the stakeholders of schools. This includes proper resource allocation, continuous quality improvement among teachers, rigorous implementation of safety and health protocols, and creation of class programs beneficial for teachers and students.
