1. Einleitung

Das Erstellen von comments ist eine der grundlegenden Fertigkeiten, die im Englischunterricht vermittelt und eingefordert werden. Schwierigkeiten entstehen für die Schülerinnen und Schüler beim Verfassen dieser Textsorte insbesondere dadurch, dass erlernte Aufbauschemata alleine nicht hinreichend sind, um das Kommunikationsziel der Überzeugung zu erreichen. Die argumentative Darstellung des Materials und die Auswahl rhetorisch geeigneter Wendungen stellen Hürden dar, die häufig demotivierend wirken. So wundert es nicht, dass aus der Schülerschaft immer wieder Fragen nach einer `Musterlösung´ aufkommen.

Die folgenden Ausführungen stellen den Versuch dar, wesentliche Formulierungshilfen an die Hand zu geben und damit Sicherheit beim Verfassen von Einleitung, Hauptteil und Fazit zu vermitteln. Darüber hinaus sollen die Beispieltexte Möglichkeiten der argumentativen Entfaltung und der sprachlichen Gestaltung verdeutlichen.^[1] Diese Beispieltexte behandeln allgemeine gesellschaftliche Fragestellungen und dienen nicht als Musterlösungen im Sinne einer perfekten Bearbeitung, sondern sollen Anregungen für die Gestaltung von comments geben.

3.1 Thema: A troubled childhood leads to a troubled adulthood

There is no doubt that it is important to help those people who have difficulties in coping with their lives, who cannot interact or communicate with other people, who are in a bad financial situation or, in general, who have a troubled life. It is not only a moral duty of our society to help those individuals who are in need of help, but it is also necessary to help them in order to prevent social conflicts and to keep our society stable. But it is only possible to do something about the problems of people, if the reasons for their troubled lives are found.

The aim of this comment will be to discuss whether a troubled childhood can be seen as the cause of a troubled adulthood. For that purpose I would like to deal with those aspects that are generally considered to be reasons for people´s problems in solving conflicts and that apply to children as well as to adults.

Children who do not learn how to cope with difficult situations, how to communicate in an appropriate way or how to solve conflicts peacefully, will not be able to do these things as adults either. One way of improving one´s living conditions is to influence one´s social environment, to ask people for help and to express one´s own wishes and feelings. But people must learn these strategies as children; adults will not be able to. Furthermore, children are inclined to imitate the social roles their parents take. For that reason those children whose parents are unable to cope with their life will probably not do any better when they grow up.
