Prof Augustine Otieno Afullo
Prof. Augustine Otieno Afullo is an accomplished hands-on field consultant, author and academic who has, in a period of 2 decades, done at least 100 field assignments in monitoring and evaluation, environmental impact assessment, training needs assessment, training manual development, feasibility studies; occupational health and safety training and audits; as well as published over 50 books. He has taught and supervised at least 250 students in at least 8 universities. He has a PhD in Environmental Sciences; an MSC in Water and Environment management; an MPhil in Environmental Health and BSC degree in Agriculture. He has a Post graduate Diplomas in Education, Health Education and environmental Science. In addition, he holds certificate qualifications in occupational safety and health (OSH); research methods; research management; Management leadership; Training of Trainers (TOT); ornamental and landscaping. He is a USA Fulbright Scholar in Residence alumnus (SIR-2012-13), a Commonwealth alumnus (2003-2007) at WEDC, Loughborough University and formerly a University of Southern California / GEOHealth Senior research fellow / trainee. Prior to University teaching, he was a high school classroom teacher for 10 years in Kenya and Botswana. In addition, Afullo has been a Commission for University Education program / curriculum / technical site evaluator (2009-2021), and an external examiner / moderator for a number of Kenyan Universities for Theses, projects and End Semester / academic year examinations. He has been an occupational health and safety trainer for top Kenyan parastatals including Kenya Ports Authority. Last but not least, he has written / authored and moderated / reviewed academic curricular in many Kenyan Universities as well as an author of at least 50 University and High school level technical, environmental, agricultural waste management, ethnographic, genealogical, comic and general readership books.
