Biographie
Dr. Phil. Milena Rampoldi, born in 1973 in Bolzano, Italy, studied theology, pedagogy, philosophy and oriental studies in Italy, before earning her doctorate in Vienna on the subject of Arabophone Quran methodology in the German-speaking world. She worked as a foreign language teacher in Italy, Austria and in the Arab world. For years, she has been leading ProMosaik as a translator, author and foreign language teacher. The topics of her books relate in particular to the Islamic religion, culture and history and to Islamic feminism and human rights, in particular slavery in Mauritania and FGM. With her texts, she pursues the goal of dialogue between religions and is convinced that by approaching history, one can also better understand the present in order to be able to build a future in the sense of justice and peace. She also founded the projects ProMosaik Poetry and ProMosaik Children, publishing books in cooperation with her publishing house ProMosaik LAPH. In her Manifesto of ProMosaik (followed by other manifestos concerning poetry and commitment for children), she sets out the principles of her pedagogical and intercultural work for justice and peace.
